Nikos Explorations Ltd. (NIK: TSX-V) announces initial results of the stripping and trenching program recently completed on the Island Copper Property in Ontario.

Values up to 8.98% copper, 201g/tonne silver and 2.81g/tonne gold were obtained from three different 1 metre long channel samples in the Hilltop area. Disseminated mineralization, in the form of chalcopyrite and associated specular hematite, occurs in strongly albitized granitic and gneissic rocks. Anomalous copper, up to 0.09%, also occurs in Trench areas 2 & 8 and 7, and is associated with specular hematite that is particularly intense in Trench area 7. These results are the first of two batches, and cover a portion of the samples from the hilltop area, and samples from Trench 2 & 8 and Trench 7. Results of the remaining samples from the hilltop area, and trench areas 1E, 3 and 6 are pending.

All samples were analyzed at Activation Laboratories of Ancaster, Ontario. Copper and silver were analyzed by ICP-OES and gold by INAA. Samples with values over 0.5% Cu and 1 g/tonne Au were re-analyzed by AA and FA – Grav, respectively.

All samples were cut by rock saw and typically measured one metre in length. The sampling was supervised by Mr. D. Tortosa, M.Sc., P.Eng. Roger Moss, Ph.D., P.Geo is the qualified person for the project.

Nikos is earning a 55% interest in the Island Copper Property from Falconbridge Limited.
