Nikos Explorations Ltd. (NIK: TSX-V) announces that the first core from the diamond drilling on the Coppercorp copper -gold-silver property was received on April 14. This drilling program is the first to be carried out in the vicinity of the past-producing Coppercorp Mine in over 30 years.

The program will consist of at least five holes. Two holes are designed to test coincident chargeability and copper in soil anomalies on the Silver Creek South grid. This chargeability anomaly, the strongest of four anomalies on the grid, extends over approximately 500 metres. Analysis of copper in soil using the mobile metal ion (MMI) technique resulted in values of up to 448,400 ppb (parts per billion) copper associated with the chargeability anomaly.

Two holes are also planned to target the southeastern extension of the chargeability anomaly on the Beaver Pond Grid. The fifth hole will test the depth extent of a copper showing on the adjacent Beaver Pond grid that assayed 1.6% copper over 1.0 metre and 2.84% copper over 0.5 metres. The copper is in the form of malachite and chalcocite associated with vein breccias close to a contact between the amygdaloidal basalt host and overlying conglomerate.

The northwest trending chargeability anomalies extend intermittently over a distance of approximately 1,500 metres and remain open to the southeast. The anomalies lie on the western flank of a 5 kilometre long magnetic lineament (the “mine trend” lineament), along which 22 surface samples have assayed more than 1% copper during reconnaissance sampling.
