Nikos intersects 0.34% Cu over 54 metres
January 10, 2006

Nikos Explorations Ltd. (“Nikos”) (NIK: TSX-V) announces the results of the recently completed six hole, 801 metre drilling program on the Coppercorp property. The program was designed to follow up on the significant results of drilling earlier in the year as well as to test new targets elsewhere on the property. Highlights include a 74.65 metre intersection (54 metres true width) grading 0.34% copper and 2 grams per tonne silver in hole CP-05-20 and 3.7 metres (3.42 metres true width) grading 0.96% copper and 7.9 grams per tonne silver in hole CP-05-18. The table below summarizes the results of the assays. Complete results and a map showing the location of all holes drilled this year can be viewed at: www.nikosexplorations.com/projects/coppercorp.

Hole CP-05-18 was drilled at an inclination of -45 degrees on an azimuth of 240 degrees to test a coincident chargeability and magnetic anomaly in the vicinity of the old Copper Creek shaft. Mineralization in the form of chalcopyrite, bornite and chalcocite occurs as disseminated grains in vein breccia.

Hole CP-05-19 was drilled at an inclination of -50 degrees on an azimuth of 60 degrees and was collared 50 metres along strike to the southeast of Hole CP-05-14 that intersected 0.35% copper over 35.33 metres. Disseminated chalcocite mineralization, associated with calcite veinlets and vein breccia, was intersected intermittently between 45 metres and 82 metres downhole.

Hole CP-05-20 was drilled at an inclination of -50 degrees on an azimuth of 60 degrees and was collared 40 metres southwest of hole CP-05-05 to test for a down-dip extension of the 17.8 metre intersection grading 1.62% copper. This hole intersected the longest mineralized interval between 25.8 metres and 100.45 metres downhole. Chalcocite is the dominant copper mineral, and typically occurs as disseminated grains in veins and vein breccias.

Hole CP-05-21, drilled at an inclination of -50 degrees on an azimuth of 240 degrees tested a coincident gravity and mobile metal ion (MMI) anomaly in the Silver Creek area. The hole intersected low grade near surface mineralization consisting of bornite veinlets hosted by basalts, before passing into unmineralized conglomerate.

Holes CP-05-22 and CP-05-23 were drilled from the same setup to test the down dip potential of surface mineralization in the L-Zone in the northwestern portion of the property.CP-05-22 was drilled at an inclination of -60 degrees and CP-05-23 at -45 degrees both on an azimuth of 240 degrees. Mineralization intersected in Hole CP-05-22 consisted of chalcocite filling fractures in epidote altered basalt.

Samples were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) following a four acid digestion at Actlabs of Ancaster, Ontario. Samples that were overlimit for copper were re-assayed by Atomic Absorption (AA). In addition to laboratory standards, blanks and duplicates, Nikos submitted standards and blanks with each batch of samples. Roger Moss P.Geo, President of Nikos, is the qualified person for the project and prepared this release.

Nikos is earning a 100% interest in the Coppercorp Property from the Batchawana Group of prospectors.

Nikos Explorations Ltd. is an exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of copper-gold projects in the Americas and is currently exploring three Ontario properties for their iron-oxide copper gold potential.
