Nikos’ properties occur within the Proterozoic-aged Southern Province, host to several prolific mining camps including Sudbury (~20 million tonnes nickel), Cobalt (~ 14,500 tonnes silver and 25,000 tonnes cobalt), Elliot Lake (~140,500 tonnes uranium) and White Pine (~11 million tonnes copper).
Nikos is currently exploring three properties (Coppercorp, Island Copper, and Bellevue) in the Sault Ste. Marie area of Ontario. These properties are believed to have potential to host iron-oxide copper gold deposits. Examples of such deposits include: Olympic Dam and Prominent Hill in Australia, Candelaria in Chile and Salobo in Brazil.
Nikos’ properties have many of the key characteristics of such iron-oxide copper gold deposits.
